Why Mediate?

Why Mediate?

The advantages of Mediation are that it is a process where each mediating party can be confident of the neutrality of the Mediator.

The aim of Mediation is to empower and support the parties in taking responsibility for exploring the difficulties which have arisen, and with the assistance of the Mediator and any relevant support services identify an outcome and solution which is acceptable to the parties, and which potentially supports the parties in their future communication.

Mediation assists the parties in dealing with issues which are important to them in a constructive and positive manner. The speed of the Mediation process can be adapted to meet the individual needs. Therefore it can be speeded up or progress can be slowed, whichever is more appropriate. The Mediation process is often very much quicker than parties engaging in any litigation process.

An additional benefit to engaging in Mediation is the manner in which the more negative and destructive aspects of disputes can be managed. Often disputes bring with them heightened emotions such as anger, loss, distress, anxiety, to name but a few.

Our professional Mediators are trained in managing these difficult aspects for the parties and wherever possible achieving strategies to address, negate or even overcome them.

Experience has shown that offering mediating parties the ability to manage communication and emotional conflict with the actual practicalities of their presenting dispute provides them with the best forum to explore and reach the outcome which satisfies their needs, and which itself often comes from understanding why they have come to the point that they are in their relationship, whether this is domestic, work place or a business scenario.
